Current Love

It is the end of January already! I had a lot I wanted to accomplish this month, and if I'm honest, not all of it got done.  But that is okay!  I still checked off several items, and had a lot of fun in between.  While my newest blog post ideas are under construction, I'm sharing my most recent favorites of the new year.

  • Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist.  I have seen this book come up several places, and I simply had to try it.  I am by no means even close to finishing, but it was one of those rare books where the introduction gets your attention.  I quickly realized this book is going to be less about food and more about family, friends, fellowship, and faith.

  • Blanket Scarves.  I got one for Christmas, and I love the added warmth more than I anticipated. Madison at Minnie Muse just posted a "how to wear" tutorial, and I am so excited to try new ways to style my scarf!

  •  13 Seasons of NCIS.  My mom, sister, and I have been watching through these on Netflix for over a year, and we just finished season thirteen.  It has been a lot of fun - a lot of laughs and, I'll admit, a lot of tears (especially at this most recently finale!)

  • The Coolest Little Plant.  My dad bought me this lovely terrarium for Christmas, and I love it.  Review in the process... ;)

  • Knee High Socks  from Kohl's.  Seriously, I have several colors and patterns and they are the best thing almost all January occasions.  They slide right over leggings too!

  • Beauty and the Beast trailers.  Also, the trailer music.  Beyond excited for this!

  • Extra Cuddley Kitties.  A fuzzy cat who wants to sleep on your lap is one of the best ways to end a day.

  • At Last, Tea.  English Breakfast has been my lately go to, ironically after dinner.  I've also kept sketching my tea cups.  And I am quite fond of my ever growing little collection of teacups that I am surrounded by in my room. :)

What have been your favorites lately?
What are you looking forward to most?

    1. Thank you so much! It was a present from my mom when I was twelve, my first teacup. I think she chose a good one to start my collection!

I love them too, and thank you!

    1. Aww, thank you!! I have actually been thinking of changing up the header, to add a few rotating photos - just can't decide. xD

Oh, neither can I! I was so in love with the live action Cinderella, I certainly thinks this has promise to be amazing too. (Plus, Dan Stevens. You are a Downton fan as well, no?)

Of course! Thank you for stopping by mine as well! <3

    1. Thank you very much! Oh yes, the terrarium does hang. So far it seems quite sturdy, and really very pretty to look at.

  4. Shauna Niequist has my applause since reading her latest book (Present Over Perfect), and I too have heard about the one you mentioned. Thanks for the recommendation, perhaps you would do a review when finished? I love that picture you took, your photography is really wonderful. I love you tea-cup too. I want to see an outfit with your new blanket scarf if you care to share it with us. Take care and blessings. Lexi

    1. I saw that you had read that; it looks like she might be a very interesting author! I would love to post a review - I have a few book posts in the making, but I need to finish reading a few before I can post. ;) I have also been researching how to do the "take pictures of an outfit" thing, as my photography experience has been very limited in the area of self portraiture. The blanket scarf would be a great idea though, thanks for sharing your thoughts! You are seriously so sweet every time you comment!

  5. What a gorgeous picture you took, wow, the light! So pretty. Love the teratarium, such brilliant colors. January definitely went by very fast, indeed! And yes, to cuddly kitties. I enjoy hot tea in the afternoon and after the evening meal too. :) Hugs to you today!

  6. That's a lovely photo! That book sounds really good, and your terrarium is very cute. :) I like the contrast of colour with the plant and moss.. and are they shells in the bottom?

    1. Thanks so much! So far the book is very good. I think to colors go very well together, too. :) Yes, the shells and moss came with the terrarium as a kit!

    1. Oh I know, I feel the same way! I am /so/ looking forward to seeing it! I love the cast they chose, at least from what I've seen in the trailers. I hadn't even thought to check Instagram for pictures like that...now I have to decide if I want to go check it out, or wait for the movie itself and be surprised, then go back and read any extra details about it. ;)
